Islamic Center Mosque – Jakarta In Indonesia was built in 1975, through the initiative of Dr. Muh. Natsir Syamsuddin, the fourth president of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI). The modern structure of the mosque was designed by Mr. Ridwan Kamil, an alumnus from Bandung Institute of Technology, and was officially opened to the public in 1979. Since then, the mosque has become one of the major mosques in Jakarta, and has become a focus of local and international Islamic activities. The mosque offers Islamic courses and programs including da’wah and Islamic education, and also serves as a place for religious lectures and seminars. Architecture:

The Jakarta Islamic Center Mosque (JICM) features a distinctive and unique design that echoes traditional Arab architectural styles. The mosques features a large central dome which is the main focus of the entire structure, surrounded by four smaller domes around it. Other features of the building's architecture include a pair of tall arched entrances, and four minarets with decorative details. The interior features Islamic motifs in terms of colour, furniture, and lighting which adds to the religious atmosphere. The mosque also consists of a large prayer hall with ample space for congregation, in addition to a few smaller prayer rooms for private prayer sessions. The mosque is renowned for its large Sufi zawiyas and mausoleums which adds to its splendor. It has been built using modern materials such as marble and granite reinforcing its traditional Islamic architecture. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
