GKI Yasmin In Indonesia: History,Facts, & Services

GKI Yasmin is a place of worship for Indonesian Protestants in the city of Tangerang in the western part of Indonesia. Established in 1982, the house of worship is part of the GKI (The Indonesian Protestant Churches) network and provides Christian services for both locals and foreign Christian. GKI Yasmin History The formation of the GKI Yasmin has roots that can be traced back to the 1950s. In 1954, Reverend I.H. Sianpessy initiated the Orthodox Protestant Christian Church, which later became the GKI (The Indonesian Protestant Churches). He served as the first chairman of the church and led multiple initiatives, such as the Banten Christian Radios, to reach out to the citizens in West Indonesia. GKI Yasmin was officially opened in 1982, with the inauguration ceremony conducted by Reverend Heinz Khousholder, the Bishop of GKI. GKI Yasmin Facts * GKI Yasmin is located at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Tangerang. * GKI Yasmin is popularly known as “Gereja Katolik Independen Yasmin”, in Indonesia language * GKI Yasmin is a member of the GKI church, in the 1920s, three churches merged together, later forming the Indonesian Protestant Churches. GKI Yasmin Services The GKI Yasmin Church offers a variety of services and programs, where members can come to fellowship and get spiritually nourished. Services include Sunday Worship, Bible study classes, prayer meetings, youth activities and a variety of other activities. GKI Yasmin is also committed to social welfare, providing healthcare and education to the local community through its charity works.
