GKI Yasmin In Indonesia: History,Facts, & Services
GKI Yasmin is a place of worship for Indonesian Protestants in the city of Tangerang in the western part of Indonesia. Established in 1982, the house of worship is part of the GKI (The Indonesian Protestant Churches) network and provides Christian services for both locals and foreign Christian.
GKI Yasmin History
The formation of the GKI Yasmin has roots that can be traced back to the 1950s. In 1954, Reverend I.H. Sianpessy initiated the Orthodox Protestant Christian Church, which later became the GKI (The Indonesian Protestant Churches). He served as the first chairman of the church and led multiple initiatives, such as the Banten Christian Radios, to reach out to the citizens in West Indonesia. GKI Yasmin was officially opened in 1982, with the inauguration ceremony conducted by Reverend Heinz Khousholder, the Bishop of GKI.
