Two small shrines Sanderi Mata temple is located on the main road of Bikaner and is one of the most famous places in the city visited by thousands of devotees and tourists every year. The temple complex is made up of two shrines that are situated at a distance of few feet apart. The main attraction is the black rock on which the devotees make their offerings. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
These two shrines have an interesting story attached to them. The locals believe that the two shrines were once connected by a small bridge, however, it got collapsed in the 16th century. The two shrines are considered to be the symbol of marital harmony and the two goddesses were worshiped as a symbol of couple’s perfect union. The walls of the two shrines are adorned with paintings, depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.
