Tomb of General Llyod is the final resting place of Zia-ul Haq, the former president of Pakistan. The monument was built in his honor in the city of Rawalpindi and is commonly referred to as the General Llyod Tomb. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.

History:

The tomb consists of a white marble structure on a platform and is guarded by two famous statues of Indian soldiers cast in bronze. The tomb is surrounded by lush gardens which are popularly called General Llyod Park. The monument also includes a small mosque which contains a Quranic verse carved into marble. The monument was built in the late 1980s, after the death of General Zia-ul Haq in a plane crash. It was designed by sculptor Maula Bux and was constructed by Rahim Shah. The tomb was inaugurated in 1990 by the then Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
