Overview:
The Tomb of Alivardi Khan the tomb of Seraj-ud-daullah is located in Murshidabad in West Bengal, India. It was built in the 18th century and is the site of the tomb of the former ruler of Bengal, Siraj-ud-Daullah, who was known as Alivardi Khan. The tomb is made up of red sandstone, and is surrounded by a courtyard. There is also a mosque located to the east of the tomb, which is believed to have been constructed by Siraj-ud-Daullah himself. History:
The most prominent feature of the tomb of Alivardi Khan is its two domed mausoleums. The central dome lies above the tomb stone, while the two smaller domes lie just below the roof. The roof has a star-shaped design and is adorned with intricate carvings and designs that were made using local stone masonry. The walls of the tomb are also decorated with glazed tiles and Arabic calligraphy. Additionally, the tomb contains two small cenotaphs which are dedicated to members of the ruling dynasty.
