Overview:
South Gate, Kella Nezamat is located 3 kilometers north of the Egyptian city of Luxor and is part of the Theban Necropolis which features some of the great monuments of ancient Egypt. It is located opposite of the entrance gate to the great temple at Karnak, and is one of the most prominent of the royal tombs located in the area. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
South Gate, Kella Nezamat is one of the most historic and notable monuments in Luxor. It is a large stone-paved and stone-cased processional entrance or causeway that leads to the Karnak Temple. The causeway includes a number of colorful hieroglyphic decorated walls, as well as a little known staircase that leads to the area of the sacred lake.
