Overview:
Se’ Cathedral is one of the largest churches in Goa, located near the Mandovi River in Old Goa. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, and named after St. Catherine of Alexandria. It was constructed during the period of 1562 to 1619 by the Portuguese and has some of the richest interiors with glistening floors, wrought iron chandeliers, double stone columns and arches that lead to the prayer hall. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Se’ Cathedral is the most famous and largest churches of Goa. The church has a unique architecture that makes it stand out from the rest of the churches and monuments in the vicinity. The impressive façade of the church is a reflection of the beautiful Indo-Portuguese art and sculptures from the 16th to the 17th century of Goa. It has a façade with two turrets, which are a symbol of having being built around two centuries ago. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
