Sarai Nahar Rai (Ancient site) is a historical archaeological site located in North India that dates back to 600 to 400 BCE. It was first discovered by Cunningham in 1893, hence it is also known as Cunningham's site. It is located in Chandausi tehsil of Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Sarai Nahar Rai (Ancient site) This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Sarai Nahar Rai contains the remains of an old settlement, a fort, and remains of an old settlement from the ancient period. It contains stonework and beads made out of glass, terracotta and stone, coins, and pieces of terracotta bangles indicating that this site was once an important settlement in the ancient times. Sarai Nahar Rai, or Cunningham's site, was discovered by Cunningham in 1893. Archaeological excavations conducted in the 1880s uncovered many artifacts like stonework, shards of pottery, terracotta jewelry and coins.
