Overview:
Binod Temple is a temple located in the district of Gonda in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is believed to be one of the oldest temples in the region and has been in existence for centuries. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu’s avatar Radha or Krishna and Lord Shiva’s Avatar Suryanarayana. Radha Binod Temple This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple is built in Hindu style of architecture. The entrance to the temple is gated with four feet high doors and is built in a circular shape. A round stone idol of Radha-Krishna is placed on the main sanctum. An idol of Lord Shiva is also worshipped on the temple premises. It is believed that Radha Binod Temple was built by the great dynasty of Gujars in the 10th century A.D. The temple was also restored to its original glory by rulers of the same dynasty.
