The Devil’s Mound and Raja Karna’s Palace are two prominent mounds in the Thar desert in India. They are located in the Rajasthan State, close to the India-Pakistan border. It is believed that the mounds were constructed in the 12th or 13th century and have been of immense historical significance. History:
The Devil’s Mound features an earthen defense wall with turrets. This was constructed by the ancient Rajput clans to protect the trade routes that were established in the area. Raja Karna’s Palace is an archaeological ruin dating back to the days of the Hindu Mahabharata epic. The palace was built as a reminder of the Hindu King Karna, who was the son of the God Sun and fought in the Mahabharata war against his brothers.
