Overview:
Megalithic cists and cairns with stone circles are located in Kalanipakkam in the Vellore district of southern India. This archaeological site is spread over an area of around 5.2 acres and consists of three large megalithic burial cairns and a number of smaller cists and stone circles. The largest cairn stands at around 12.7 meters in diameter and is believed to contain around 35 interment burials. The megaliths found here are estimated to date back to the Bronze Age.
