Madhiyapat temple is an ancient ruined temple located in the Gundlupet Taluk of Chamarajanagara district in the Indian state of Karnataka believed to have been built during the reign of the Hoysala Dynasty. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to the worship of Shiva. Madhiyapat Temple (Ruined Temple) This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple is known for its intricate carvings and decorations, an unusual feature of which is a row of seven Saptamatrika figures placed along its outer wall. There is an inscription from the Chola Dynasty which mentions that the temple was constructed between 1094 CE and 1291 CE.
