Jalkanteswara Temple is an ancient temple located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. It also covers a Shrine dedicated to the Sage Agastya. The temple is a part of the ancient Thirukarugavur Temple complex. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main deity of the temple is a lingam known as ‘Jalkanteswara’ or ‘Raja Lingam’. It is made of black stone and is four feet tall. The temple also has a shrine dedicated to Sage Agastya, who is known to have performed poojas in the temple. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
