Overview:
Firoz Minar is a historic monument located in the Indian city of Delhi. The monument was built by Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq in the 14th century and is located in the southwestern corner of Firoz Shah Kotla, near Dilkusha Kothi. It was built to commemorate an important victory by Sultan Firoz Shah against the Mongols. Firoz Minar This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Firoz minar is a five-storey tower, and each storey is made of red sandstone and white marble. The tower was initially topped with a dome, but it collapsed due to a major earthquake in 1803. The tower is now topped with a shallow dome instead. The tower has arched passageways leading to the first two storeys and strictly ornamental projections on the other three storeys.
