Overview:
Temple is a Hindu temple located in the state of Maharashtra, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is his abode, or residence, in the holy town of Deur. The temple was constructed during the 10th century and is believed to be one of the oldest temples in the region. It has been the site of religious gatherings and rite-of-passage ceremonies for the local community for centuries. History:
The temple is located on the northern bank of the river Krishna, in the village of Deur. It is surrounded by a high wall and consists of four sections. The main section is where the main deity is located. This section is comprised of the main sanctum (garbhagriha), a large open courtyard, and an expansive porch. The other sections of the temple include the mandapam (hallway), the pillared halls, and small shrines dedicated to other gods.
