Buddhist remains at Kodavali are remnants of a Buddhist site which was a center of Buddhist activities during the reign of the Satavahana dynasty. It can be found in the Gulbarga district of Karnataka, India. It is believed to be a major Buddhist hub which has been occupied since the 2nd century BCE. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The site contains numerous stupas, viharas, and carved figures. One of the most striking features of Kodavali is the stupa at the center of the site. It is believed to be the centerpiece of the Buddhist site and it is believed to have been built by the Satavahana kings.
