Overview:
Bhuili is an ancient archaeological site located in Uttar Pradesh, India. The site lies in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the district of Muzaffarnagar. The archaeological importance of this site is immense as it was related with the important cities of Hastinapur and Meerut. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The site of Bhuili reveals some of the monumental structures of yesteryears like the stupas, steps and carved stone slabs. The stupa of the site is said to be of a secondary in character and it dates back to the Mauryan period. The structure is circular with a diameter of about 12 m. Steps surrounding it spiral from the base up and the gateway stone has a standing figure that could represent Lord Buddha. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
