The Cappella del Transito di Santa Caterina da Siena is a Roman Catholic chapel located in the Italian town of Siena. It began as a pious foundation in 1363 by the Servite priest Fedele da Montefeltro, and was revised and remodelled in 1722 by the architect Giuseppe Partini. The original chapel was destroyed in a fire in 1742, but was rebuilt and enlarged under the guidance of the architect Troili Tofanelli. The chapel houses a relic of Santa Caterina da Siena gifted to the chapel by the Servite order. During its religious services, the relic is venerated by pilgrims. The chapel is dedicated to worship and commemoration of Saint Catherine of Siena, who was a member of the Order of the Servites. The Cappella del Transito di Santa Caterina da Siena is a prominent example of Baroque Revival architecture and contains many rich decorative features, frescoes and sculptures. It is known for its elaborate marble interior, its lavishly decorated stucco pulpits and its richly ornamented ceiling fresco, depicting a representation of Christ's Transfiguration.
