Mikkeli Cathedral (Finnish: Mikkelin Tuomiokirkko) is an Evangelical Lutheran cathedral in the city of Mikkeli, Finland. It was built in 1771-1776 and has undergone several reconstructions throughout the centuries. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Turku and Finland and serves as a parish church. History:

The current Mikkeli Cathedral has its roots in the early 16th century, when the first church was built to serve the needs of the city's Lutheran inhabitants. This original wooden structure was burned down during a peasant revolt in 1597 and was replaced by another wooden building. This second church still stands today and is now known as the Old Church of Mikkeli. In 1771, the decision was taken to build a grand new stone cathedral in Mikkeli, connected to the existing Old Church. Construction of the cathedral was completed in 1776 and it has undergone several reconstructions in the years since then, including renovations in 1877, 1914 and 1947. The cathedral is an example of the classic Gothic style of architecture, with an exterior made of rusticated and hewn stone, and an interior made of hewn stone, redbrick and plaster. The cathedral's main feature is a large octagonal tower, which was built on top of the main entrance. The tower is 57 metres (187 feet) tall and has two copper domes overlooking the city.
