JICF stands for Japan International Cooperation Forum. It is an independent, non-profit think tank platform established in Tokyo, Japan in 2011. Its mission is to support the development of international cooperation between Japan and the rest of the world. It draws on its extensive international network to provide evidence-based research, analysis, and insights to foster further dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. History JICF was founded in 2011 by a group of Japanese professionals and international institutions, such as the World Bank, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Its founders sought to improve the relevance, visibility, and credibility of research in support of international cooperation and collaboration. Facts -JICF was officially launched in Tokyo in April 2011. -Since its inception, JICF has organized over 200 expert workshops on global issues. -JICF produces monthly digests on global affairs that have been circulated to more than 70,000 readers worldwide. -JICF is a member of the OECD’s network of think tanks.
