Pargas Church was established in 1773, as part of the boathouse of the Kurki family. The original church was a wood-frame building and it was replaced by a stone church in 1803. It was enlarged in 1903 and has remained unchanged since that time. The parish also has two supplementary chapels; the oldest being one built in 1807 at the Lillmälö Estate and the other built in 1925 to host ceremonies for the deceased inhabitants of the island.
