The IPHC Fiji was officially founded in 1953, by Rev. N.K. Agarwal and a small team of believers. They were sent by the then-existing Pentecostal Holiness Church of India, led by Bishop Walter Westby. Initially, six churches were established, with members meeting in small wooden buildings or homes. By 1965, the number had grown dramatically, with twenty-five churches located throughout Fiji. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Fiji.
