History:
It is believed that the church was originally built in the 14th century and has been reconstructed several times since then. It is also believed to have been destroyed during a major battle in the Great Northern War between the Swedish and Russian armies in 1701. In 1778, it was significantly rebuilt with red brick, leading to its current appearance. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.
