Karja church is a historic Lutheran church located in the northern part of Lääne-Viru county, Estonia. The church is of a classicist style and was built in 1779. It is believed to be the oldest church in the region and is built of stone and brick. Inside the church, there is an impressive 17th-century fresco painting that covers the entire upper half of the chancel. The painting shows a traditional Baroque depiction of Heaven with Jesus at the center. The church also has a ceiling decorated with 18th-century stucco. The Karja church is part of a complex including a bell tower which stands by the cemetery wall, and a resurrection chapel built of stone and brick. In addition to being an important historical site, the Karja church still holds regular services to this day, offering Sunday services in the Estonian language.
