History:

The first church on the site of St. Paul's Cathedral was built in 604 by the Roman Emperor Constantine. It was destroyed by Viking raiders in 962, and the current St. Paul's Cathedral was built between 1675 and 1711 by Sir Christopher Wren. The new church was consecrated in 1711 by Bishop of London Thomas Tenison. The Cathedral was damaged during the Blitz of 1940–41 and underwent extensive repairs since then.
