The original Norman building has been extended to include a chapel, tower, spire and chancel. The building has architectural features from the Decorated, Perpendicular, and Georgian periods. History:

St Luke's Church is located at the east end of the market place in the city centre of Derby, Derbyshire. It was built in the 13th century in the Norman Style, and its chancel is the oldest part of the building. It was often referred to as 'Little Saint Paul’s', as it had a similar height and shape to St Paul's Cathedral in London. The church was extended during the 14th century, and by the 17th century a Georgian style tower and spire were added. It was enlarged in the Victorian period and is a Grade II listed building. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.
