Parque Nacional Sierra del Bahoruco is a nature reserve located in the Barahona region of the Dominican-Republic. It was established in 1976 by Decree No. 746-76 of the Dominican Republic Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA). It is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a Biosphere Reserve. The park is known for its rich biodiversity and is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the endangered Ridgeway's Hawk and Caribbean manatee. The park has a varied terrain, ranging from tropical rainforest, to semi-arid countryside. It is home to a number of rivers and waterways, including the Yaque del Sur River, which runs through the park, and the Dudú, Choribón and Torre rivers.
