The Aarhus Cathedral has a long and exciting history. The church was first built in the year 1060 as a Romanesque cathedral. In the mid-13th century, it was completely destroyed by fire along with most of the city and had to be entirely rebuilt. After its reconstruction, the cathedral was enlarged in the 14th and 15th centuries, forming the church that we know today.
