History:
The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew was originally built as a Romanesque church known as the Church of the Holy Savior in the 13th century. Later, the church was expanded and became a Gothic church dedicated to St. Bartholomew in the 14th century. It was destroyed in a fire in 1541, but the walls and the foundation survived. After the fire, the church was rebuilt in a baroque style in the 17th century, when the cathedral was enlarged and reconstructed. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.

The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew is 65 meters long and 28 meters wide, with the interior measuring 45 meters long and 12 meters wide. The Cathedral is the resting place of numerous Czech kings and queens, including Saint Wenceslaus, Charles IV, and Wenceslaus IV. There are also two side chapels, dedicated to St. Francis of Assissi and St. Vitus, as well as a crypt that houses the remains of Czech martyrs from the Hussite era.
