History:

The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew was originally built as a Romanesque church known as the Church of the Holy Savior in the 13th century. Later, the church was expanded and became a Gothic church dedicated to St. Bartholomew in the 14th century. It was destroyed in a fire in 1541, but the walls and the foundation survived. After the fire, the church was rebuilt in a baroque style in the 17th century, when the cathedral was enlarged and reconstructed. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.
