The Universidad Central de Las Villas (UCLV) is a public university located in the city of Santa Clara, in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba. It is one of the thirteen universities in Cuba and one of the twelve public ones. It was founded in 1961 as the University Institute of Technology of Las Villas, only taking the denomination of Universidad Central de Las Villas in 1971.
