History:

Cabaret Parisién is a cabaret located in Havana, Cuba, and is one of Cuba's oldest and most iconic cabarets. The location dates back to the 19th century when it was first opened as a brew house. In the early 1920s, it was transformed into a cabaret, owned by the Italian Mario Donati. Under Donati's direction, the cabaret quickly grew to fame and became a favorite hangout for the city's intellectuals. In 1941, a Miami-based group called the Palacio de Paris Co. took over the cabaret. The group renamed it the Cabaret Parisién and added a new floor with a rooftop terrace. They stocked the cabaret with Cuban and American entertainers including African-American dancer Hazel Scott. In 1948, the cabaret was taken over by the Cuban government, and, under the new name Centro de Recreo Burocratico, it served as a recreational center for Cuban bureaucrats and their families. The cabaret’s famous terrace was removed during this time. In the early 2000s the Cabaret Parisien was reopened and its appearance was completely restored. Since then, it has been a popular tourist attraction and a frequent stage for performances by Cuban stars. You must visit one of these historical places in Cuba on your Cuba tour
