Cathédrale de Bafoussam In Cameroon: History,Facts, & Services

is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Bafoussam, Cameroon. It was opened in March 1967 and dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is currently the seat of the Diocese of Bafoussam, established on May 4, 1965. The cathedral was built with the help of the local population, surviving the destruction of the original church following its foundation in 1895. The building is an imposing structure of reinforced concrete and has a large bell tower. It features an interior with four great pillars, beautiful mosaic and glass-stained windows that bring a dazzling light into the sanctuary. The cathedral regularly hosts liturgical services, conferences and various events, such as a Perpetual Adoration chapel open 24 hours a day.
