is a Roman Catholic Church in the Bamenda, Cameroon area of the Diocese of Bamenda.The church is named after Saint Charles Luwanga, a Ugandan martyr.St Charles Luwanga was martyred in Uganda due to his refusal to renounce the Catholic faith and accept the King’s demand of atheism. History The church was established in 1936 and had its first bishop in 1942 who was known as Most Rev. Dr. A.T. Tansi. Facts -It is the first African Church to be elevated to the status of a parish. -The Church serves a large population in the area, mainly the Bamenda Tikar, who for many years were denied any form of religious recognition by the colonial authorities. -It is one of the most popular and largest churches in the region.
