The Bakong temple complex of the Roluos Group in Siem Reap in Cambodia is the oldest remaining temple in the area. As the first major temple-mountain of the Khmer Empire, it is also the most important temple of its period. Worshippers of the Bakong complex of temples can enter the complex through a large gateway and view the main temple pyramid of Bakong, which is the largest mountain temple in the region, and the other subsidiary pyramids. The worship method for the Bakong complex primarily consists of offering incense, flowers and prayers to the deity depicted in the primary deity of the temple, Shiva.
