History:
St Peter Catholic Church in Gabane, Botswana was built in 1930 and began welcoming worshippers in 1932. It is a Roman Catholic church and part of the Diocese of Gaborone. In 1934, the parish priest asked the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) to take over the spiritual leadership of the parish and they accepted, beginning a long association between the church and the OMI. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Botswana.
