Huayna Potosí is an extinct volcano located in the Cordillera Real, about 20 km (12 mi) northwest of La Paz, Bolivia. It is an andesite stratovolcano with an elevation of 6,088 m (19,974 ft). Despite its relative youth, the mountain is composed of eroded Paleozoic and Mesozoic rocks. It is the highest peak of the Cordillera Real, boasting some of the most technical mountaineering routes in Bolivia.
