History:

Curahuara de Carangas is a town located in Potosí, Bolivia. The town is located on the banks of the Beni river in the Apolo Valley and is primarily inhabited by the Carangas people, an ethnic group of Aymara descent. The history of the town dates back to the early colonial period, when Spanish settlers established a mission in the area in 1548. The first inhabitants of the region were native Aymara people, who moved to the area as early as the 15th century.
