Worship Method:
The Tamchoe Monastery in Paro is a Nyingma monkery dedicated to Vajrayana Buddhism. It stands at the foot of Taktsang (Tigers Nest), one of Bhutan's most iconic and sacred sites. Worship at this holy site is conducted in the traditional Nyingma style of chanting, recitations of mantras, and solemn prostrations. Monks also perform colourful masked dances that represent the tantric meditations of the deity Padmasambhava, known as Guru Rinpoche in Bhutan. On auspicious days such as Tibetan New Year, hundreds of people come to pay their respects and offerings to the monastery.
