The Samdrup Jongkhar Dzong is the main temple of the district of Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan. It is said to have been established in the 12th century by a descendant of a powerful lama from Tibet. The temple still follows the traditional practices of Bon, the pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet. The temple is considered to be a sacred site and is maintained and visited by both Buddhists and Bon followers.
