History:

Kila Nunnery, also known as Ku Chimphu Goemba, is a small nunnery located near Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The nunnery was founded by Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye in the 17th century, who built it as a tribute to his sister, Ngawang Chhoegyal. The nuns of Kila Nunnery follow the tradition of Buddhism, with a dedication to the Drukpa Lineage.
