is a beautiful 17th century chorten located in the Trashiyangtse District. It is located about 12 km from the town of Trashiyangtse along the River Kholongchu. The monument is believed to have been built by Lama Ngawang Loday in 1740 AD. It has a unique design compared to other chortens in Bhutan, having four steps which symbolize the four cardinal points. The chorten was built as a memorial to a victory the lama had over an evil spirit which was disturbing the locals. Worship Method:

Chorten kora is an annual festival held in the small village of Trashiyangtse in Bhutan and is celebrated to honour Guru Padmasambhava, the 8th century Buddhist saint who brought Tantric Buddhism to Bhutan. This festival is celebrated for three days from the last day of the second month in the Bhutanese lunar calendar. During this festival, people from all across the country and even from neighbouring countries like India and Tibet come to take part in it. On the first day, offerings are made to the chorten or stupa and people gather in front of it to observe the ritual. Then, hundreds of devotees move in a clockwise procession around the chorten, chanting prayers and offering their prayers to Guru Padmasambhava. On the second day, there is a ritual chanting of mantras and another circumambulation of the Chorten. On the last day, a Mahakala Puja is held and offerings are made to the devas or gods.
