History:

The Bumdeling Wildlife Sanctuary is located in eastern Bhutan and is one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in the country. It was established in 1993 and covers an area of around 1150 sq. km. It is home to many endangered animal species and rare flora and fauna. The Sanctuary is bordered by the Jikshu Lhakhang and Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park. The sanctuary is frequented by wildlife enthusiasts and researchers from around the world. It is home to a variety of mammalian species, including the Bengal Tiger, Golden Langur, Musk Deer, Red Panda, Wild Water Buffalo, Pangolin, Himalayan Black Bear, and several species of cats.
