The history of the church begins when Nazarene missionaries from the U.S. arrived in British Honduras in 1952, and established a church that would later be called Zion. The church also practices tithing and placing itself under God's protection and authority.
The church's activities include Sunday services, Bible study, youth meetings, training and activities for young children, and Christian fellowship. The church also participates in mission activities, providing short-term mission trips and providing assistance to other Nazarene churches in Central America and elsewhere. The church also has a number of affiliated industrial, educational, and medical ministries.
The Zion Church of the Nazarene in Belize was officially inaugurated in 2002. Its members meet regularly and partake in activities that serve the community, such as providing scholarships for children of its members and helping those in need. The church continues to expand its membership and programs.
