Nim Li Punit is an ancient Mayan archaeological site in southern Belize. The site's most prominent feature is the “Stela 10” – a tall limestone slab carved with a portrait of a Mayan ruler surrounded by hieroglyphs. Stela 10 is dated to around AD 731 and is believed to represent a local ruler of Nim Li Punit, who may have been part of the emerging kingdom of the Quiche Maya. Stela 10 was originally part of a larger group of statues, monuments, and walls that were used to mark out the ceremonial center of Nim Li Punit.
