The Curtius Museum, formally the Musée Royal de l'Armée et d'Histoire Militaire, is an art, arms, and history museum located in Liège, Belgium. It is named after the Liégeois dramatist, historian, and lawyer Jean-Jacques Curtius (1741–1822), who bequeathed his entire collection to the city. The museum opened in 1894 and is housed in two buildings connected by a gallery. The first building, Villa Curtius, was built in 1780 for Pierre-Joseph d'Ortho. It served as an overflow for the hospital during the years of the French occupation and World War I. The second building, Palais Curtius, was constructed in 1719 by industrialist Philippus de Launoy. It was later sold to Jean-Jacques Curtius who spent his wealth renovating it and filling it with his collection.
