Tserkov' Uspenskaya, also known as the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, is a Russian Orthodox Church located in the historic center of St. Petersburg, Russia. It is one of the oldest churches in the city, built in 1707 by Tsar Peter the Great, and is considered one of the most beautiful and important churches in the city. History:

Tserkov' Uspenskaya was built in 1707 by Tsar Peter the Great to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his accession to the throne. The original structure was designed by the renowned Italian architect Domenico Trezzini and was later rebuilt in 1722 to make it more sumptuous and fitting for the high status of the church. The church was consecrated in 1760 and became the official place of worship for the Grand Dukes of the Romanov family. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Belarus.

Tserkov' Uspenskaya combines elements of Baroque and Russian Revival styles and is decorated with Greek crosses and onion domes. Inside, the church is richly decorated with frescoes, gilded icons and ornate tile work. The iconostasis is a feature of its own, adorned with various gilded statues of saints and decorated with mosaics. Tserkov' Uspenskaya also contains the tombs of several members of the Romanov family.
