The village was first mentioned in the 15th century as “Tserkov Plissa” in records belonging to the estate of the Vishnevetski family. It was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania until 1795 and the Russian Empire until 1917. The village was incorporated into Poland with the Treaty of Riga in 1921 and then annexed to the Soviet Union again in 1939 under the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
