History:

St. Joseph's Church in Gomel, Belarus, has a long and varied history. The church was constructed in 1882 and has since played an important role in the life of Gomel and its residents. The original construction of St. Joseph's was funded by contributions from wealthy landowner and businessman Grigoriy Lvovich Leskov. It was designed in a neo-classical style and many of the ornamental features and altars were made by local craftsmen.
