Bozh'ya Tserkov' In Belarus: History,Facts, & Services

Bozh'ya Tserkov' (also known as the Church of God) is an independent Eastern Orthodox Christian denomination based in Russia and is a member of the World Council of Churches. Bozh'ya Tserkov' is the result of a union between two churches, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Union of True Orthodox Christians (UTOC), which was reached in 2011. Since then, the two churches have worked together and now represent a single entity. It is one of the best churches in Belarus which you must visit.

History:

Bozh'ya Tserkov' has its roots in the Old Believers movement which split from the Russian Orthodox Church in 1666, initially rejecting the reforms of Patriarch Nikon who attempted to bring the Russian Church in line with the Greek Orthodox Church. Over time the movement has adapted, though they still maintain many Old Believer customs and beliefs. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Belarus.
