The origins of the church, which is located near the north coast of Barbados in the historic town of St. Lucy’s Park, date back to the 17th century. The current church building, listed as a protected national monument, was constructed in 1837 and has undergone constant renovations since then. It is one of the best churches in Barbados which you must visit.

History:

According to local legend, the first chapel in the area was built around 1660 on the site of an Arawak settlement. It was destroyed by the French in 1666 and was rebuilt several times over the years before the current structure was built in the early 19th century. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Barbados.
